Katha Munch is excited to share the outstanding success of its debut stage production for the San Francisco Bay Area community - Akbar Birbal!

The timeless stories of Akbar and Birbal have been passed down through generations and are renowned for their ability to blend humor, drama, romance, music and dance.
The play revolves around the relationship between the Great Mughal Emperor Akbar and his trusted advisor and courtier Raja Birbal. Through a series of humorous anecdotes, Birbal proves his intelligence, wisdom and wit and earns the respect of the Emperor. However, their relationship is tested when jealously and envy arise in the Emperor's court.

The production promises to be a visual and auditory feast, with stunning dance performances and melodious live music adding to the overall charm of the story. Come and witness this captivating production and be transported into a world of kings and courtiers, humor and drama, love and romance.

Katha Munch proudly unveils its inaugural stage production for the San Francisco Bay Area community: "Akbar Birbal." Premiered at the Village Theater in Danville on February 10, 2024, the sold-out show's overwhelming success, the impromptu addition of a new show, our talented cast of 75+, and the rich cultural tapestry it weaves have left a lasting impression. With heartfelt testimonials from our cherished audiences, "Akbar Birbal" embodies all that we hold dear.

Community Ram leela

Katha Munch remains dedicated to bolstering community theater, providing a platform for newcomers and enthusiasts to explore their talents. Our ongoing commitment to the arts is exemplified by our involvement in initiatives like the Community Ram Leela. Originating with a vibrant young community from Dublin, CA in 2022, this tradition extended its reach to embrace the Tri-Valley community in November 2023.
