Men written by Women
by Spandana Akella; 24th March 2026
This Women’s Day Katha Munch put on a different lens, ..a woman’s lens.
Inspired by the short film 2 Kilo by 1By2 Productions, our stage adaptation explores a simple question:
What changes when women write men?
The gaze softens.
The silences gain meaning.
The ego gets context.
The vulnerability gets space.
Emotions are lived vs. performed.
Not to judge.
Not to lecture.
Just to look a little closer.
At its heart, it’s a romantic comedy.
Marriage banter.
Ego stand-offs.
Apologies that almost happen — and then don’t.
In 2 Kilos, the men aren’t caricatures. They’re husbands trying to make it work. They love deeply. They argue fiercely. They don’t always know how to say what they feel.
If you’ve ever:
• Wanted to win the argument
• Wanted the apology more
• Said “I’m fine” but meant something else
You’ll recognize this world.
